goatee of filth



Sunday 12th April 2009. burntisland-kincardine-rumbling bridge-burntisland, then paris-roubaix on telly. at least two off tarmac sections and some pave. bring extra thick tyres.

what's the forest road like that runs from the lochornie to the underpass that runs under the M90 at keltybridge? road bikable?

Okay. the Keltybridge end is a bit lumpy. wouldn't say it's going to be nice on a road bike....

We sometimes use it to climb from the Triangle (where the MTB trails come out below the car park / the lowest point of the CX course) to the bombhole (half way along that road)

I think the far end has been resurfaced but nothing driven on it to pack it down so that could be iffy too.

I can check it all out before April on the crossbike easily enough.

I've been told that there's going to be a 2 month long felling operation near the Lochernie end of that road very shortly so the condition of the road come April is TBC....

Went up to rumblingbridge via Kinross (and back via Knock Hill) last week - some good road riding up there.
