sunday is a busy day. up early (for a sunday) to go cyclocross racing at auchentoshan, soup and cakes in the west end, then through to edinburgh for the closing night of the mountain film festival.
am soooo looking forward to the EMFF. it will see the premiere of dave macleod's new film echo wall (trailer below) and a lecture by chris bonnington. guess for people of my age, chris was probably the first mountaineer we'd have heard of through appearances on blue peter and the like. as a member and leader of some of the great UK expeditions to big mountain ranges which included climbers such as Haston, Scott and Whillans i'm sure it'll be fascinating.

He has to rate as one of the best all round climbers in the world. Emmett and Gresham both climb mixed and trad but are there any superstrong Amercians who do? It'd be interesting to see Sharma or Graham on an ice climb
